FAQ

What is your food philosophy?

My food philosophy is first and foremost based on my childhood. I grew up eating food we raised, I helped my mom make cheese and butter from raw milk and cream that we purchased from our neighbor who had a single dairy cow. I’ve also been incredibly lucky to have traveled to Italy, Thailand, and Vietnam to do research for my cookbooks, and my experience working with Michelin Star chefs, classically French trained chefs as well as home cooks, street vendors, and local families and farmers, all has trickled into my cooking style. Basically, I cook what I like to eat. I love to layer flavors and use the entirety of whatever ingredient I find at the market. Turnips? YES but you can also use the turnip greens for sauces! Don’t throw away those peels, let’s make a delicious stock for the base of our soups! Wild game? Let’s go for it. Pork belly, duck legs, slow roasting, sous vide, grilling and searing. I love it all! If it’s delicious I’ll cook it, and my greatest joy is to surprise and delight my guests with food you may never have thought of pairing together or eating in a certain application. My food is not pretentious or over the top, I don’t use kitchen science or obscure techniques. I love to make food beautiful and presentable because we truly do eat with our eyes. I adore coming to our farmers market for interesting seasonal ingredients and turning what I find into a feast. It’s my truest expression of who I am, and I love creating delicious meals so much I’m crying as I type this and I simply can’t wait to feed you!

Can I walk in and ask for a table?

No, Gather is reservation only and you must sign up and secure your seat with payment prior to arrival. We do not expect any transactions to take place once you arrive but there will be an option when you make your reservation to add gratuity for our amazing staff.

Where are you located?

We are at a private residence which is dedicated to Gather and our location is near downtown Chico. Once you reserve your seat the address will be revealed to you.

Will wine be available for purchase?

Wine is complementary and paired with each course by Sommelier, Cody Anderson. Cody is also a winemaker and will be featuring his own exclusive wine, Dajuco. Gather will be the only Supper Club featuring his wine, and it’s hands down the best Cabernet I have ever had. Cody will expertly pair white wines from other select vineyards to start us off with our first few courses.

Can I bring my own bottle of wine?

Yes of course, we charge a small corkage fee that you can prepay for when you make your reservation.

All the dates you have listed are totally booked and I really want to come to Gather, what can I do?

We are building our waiting list, you can call Gather and leave a message at (530) 487-0274 or email us at gathersupperclubchico@gmail.com

I have a food allergy, can you accommodate me?

If you have a true allergy please let us know when you make your reservation and we will do our best to accommodate you.

I prefer to avoid certain foods like dairy, and animal protein but I do not have an allergy, can you accommodate me?

The menu is ever changing, sometimes on the fly, and although we will work ahead of time to adjust ingredients if someone has an actual food allergy, we can not promise to be able to accommodate for preferences

How many courses are there?

You can expect between 5-8 courses throughout the evening.

How long will I be there?

Dinner will last between 2-2.5 hours. Each course will be explained along with the wine pairings, and you will be given the opportunity to mingle beforehand for a welcome drink. Expect a relaxed, entertaining and truly enjoyable community centered event! You’ll leave with new connections and a full belly!

Something came up and I can’t make it, can I get a refund?

We are unable to refund you especially since we have such a small capacity and we are planning each meal down to the very last little microgreen. You can however transfer your ticket(s) to someone else, but you’ll need to call or email us to let us know who to expect instead of you.
